Definition of Revival 2/2
In my last post I mentioned RENEWAL or REFRESHING and AWAKENING, but hopefully the move of God will not stop there. Once the Awakening has immersed an area one can hope for a REFORMATION. This happened after the Great Awakening of 1735, but it took many years. Part of that Reformation was the abolition of the Slave Trade. Our ultimate aim, however, should be for TRANSFORMATION. I have only seen this in one place – Almalonga in Guatamala. There was an awakening in Almonga for some years until over 90% of the town were born again. Prisons and bars closed and the farmers all prospered, with most of them having new Mercedes trucks, with Bible verses stamped on them, to take their produce to market. However, the most remarkable thing about the Transformation was their vegetables were huge; you could literally have a dinner party with one carrot. It was incredible to see; God had blessed their land.
Those are the four stages of a move of God; of a revival. Because everybody in the past has used the word ‘revival’, and because people still use it today, I shall still use the word in future posts, but please understand that those writing in the past are talking about what I have defined as an Awakening, as will I.
